Proper extraction is ensured as water is distributed evenly through a multi-hole shower head onto the grounds in the cone shaped filter below. Lizzy's Tip: Using the optional gold filter allows for brewing freshly roasted coffee at the full pot capacity. If you want to brew stronger than 1T per cup, brew a smaller pot of 6 or 8 cups to allow space for the ground coffee.
