The Details This lovely coffee is grown in Aponte, Nariño Dept. Growing between 5600-6980 ft, clay loam and volcanic ash soils set the stage for success. Weather conditions are perfect for the anaerobic honey processing, offering quick drying times that result in a complex and delicate cup.

What's Cool The Aponte Indigenous Reserve is a community with its own unique language, governance, and customs. Just a couple of decades ago, the area was nearly inaccessible and extremely dangerous due to guerrilla forces forcing the locals to cultivate illicit crops. Determined to break free from this dependence, the people of Aponte chose to replant traditional vegetables and coffee, shifting their economy to sustainable, indigenous agriculture and marketing their own products.
